I’m Alison Francis (Anandi), an Ayurvedic sleep expert, author, and founder of Sleepology by Anandi®. My work brings together the wisdom of Ayurveda, yoga, and breathwork with modern sleep science to help people find real rest, resilience, and vitality.
My mission is to help you reconnect with your body’s natural intelligence so that sleep, energy, and peace come effortlessly once again.

From Sleepless Nights to Sleepology by Anandi®
By the age of twenty-seven, I was a chronic insomniac.
Outwardly, I was thriving, running a successful beauty company, AHFrancis Ltd, and teaching fitness and vitality from the inside out. But behind the scenes, I was running on empty.
Those years of sleeplessness became my greatest teacher. They showed me that true vitality doesn’t come from doing more, it comes from alignment, balance, and inner calm.
Eventually, my search for answers led me to yoga and Ayurveda, where I discovered that insomnia wasn’t my enemy. It was a message and a sign that I was out of harmony with my true nature.
The turning point came when I realised that healing isn’t something a doctor can hand to you. Western medicine can manage symptoms, but to truly heal we must take responsibility for our own wellbeing and understand what created the imbalance in the first place.
That realisation changed everything. It became the foundation for The Sleep Guru, and later for Sleepology by Anandi®, a complete system for uncovering and addressing the real causes of stress, exhaustion, and sleeplessness.
The Philosophy Behind Sleepology by Anandi®
Ayurveda taught me that there was nothing wrong with me. I simply had imbalances unique to my constitution. That insight is at the heart of my work.
In the West, we’ve separated the ancient sciences that were always meant to work together; yoga, Ayurveda, and the breath. My work brings them back together.
Sleepology isn’t about quick fixes or sleeping pills. It’s about creating a coherent, personalised strategy that brings the body, mind, and breath back into harmony.
When you understand your individual nature and follow a path aligned with it, your nervous system resets, your energy stabilises, and sleep begins to unfold naturally because you’re no longer fighting against yourself.
Most people I work with have tried everything; supplements, sleep apps, endless routines, and yet nothing works long-term because there’s no strategy or understanding of the why. Once we uncover the cause and bring awareness to it, the healing process begins.
Teachers, Lineage, and Influence
My teacher, Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu, gave me the name Anandi, meaning “in bliss.” Every time I hear it, I’m reminded of my purpose — to guide others towards that same state of peaceful vitality.
Dr. Yogrishi, from an authentic lineage of Nath yogis, has been a profound influence on my understanding of the breath and the healing power of energy. I also serve as President of his charity, Helping Hands for India, which provides education to underprivileged children — a cause close to my heart.
Alongside his teachings, I’ve also studied with Dr. David Frawley and Dr. Deepak Chopra, both of whom have helped me bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and modern science.
My years of study, practice, and seva (selfless service) in India have grounded everything I teach in authenticity, compassion, and lived experience.
The Work Today
Today, I share my work through retreats, workshops, and speaking engagements, helping people understand that being rested isn’t a luxury, it’s a foundation for a joyful, creative life.
At my retreat centre in Italy, surrounded by olive trees, I’m creating a sanctuary where people can rest deeply, breathe fully, and reconnect with the simple power of being alive.
The next evolution of Sleepology by Anandi® goes beyond sleep itself, it’s about cultivating the state of being rested. Because when you are rested, you have access to your true energy, clarity, and joy.
To be rested is to be fully alive.
